OUR SCOTTISH HERITAGE

Many people ask us "With a name like Peterson, how do you end up with Drummond Farms?" It's really quite simple, our heritage from Leslie's side of the family is a mix of Scottish, English and Irish. The Scottish in her lineage can be traced to the Drummond clan associated with Pershire area of Scotland. Clan Drummond and the name Drummond, initially derived from a small parish called Drymen which is located in Western Stirlingshire. Our family has been involved in many activities associated with our Scottish heritage most notably Scottish Highland Dancing, bagpiping and drumming.

OUR TARTAN

Our family proudly wears the tartan "Drummond of Perth - Old and Rare" as its family tartan.

There are many derivations of the Drummond tartan which members of our family have worn throughout the years...some for Scottish highland dancing, others just for something different.

The variants that have been worn by our family are shown below, with the official family tartan posted first.

Past in pictures

Our sons have competed at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland several times over the years. This is a meaningful event in the U.K. and for pipers, drummers and Scottish Highland fans the world over.

Click the link below connect to a fantastic video filmed by BBC One of the St. Thomas Alumni Pipe Band with whom our boys both played and made the finals at the 2014 games. Ben received a nice, long shot while piping, while Ian is the tall tenor drummer with his back to the bass drum player. It is well worth watching!
